Celebrating the life of
Linda Boon Sullivan Willis
May 02, 1941 - May 01, 2013
Linda Boon Sullivan Willis, 71, born May 2, 1941, died Wednesday, May 1, 2013 in Jacksonville, Florida.
A longtime resident of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida and Savannah, Georgia, Mrs. Willis was born in Ennis, Texas and is preceded in death by her parents, E.H. and Hazel Boon and her brothers, Col. Ivan G. Boon Ret. of Cleburne, Texas and E.K. Boon of Ennis, Texas.
Much of Linda's professional life was spent in the field of politics and government. She served in Washington as Appointment Secretary to the Honorable Ralph W. Yarborough, Democratic senator from Texas, and as Executive Assistant to the Honorable Charlie Wilson, Democratic congressman from Texas. After moving to Jacksonville, Florida, she served as Senior Citizens Coordinator for the Honorable Jake M. Goldbold, Mayor of Jacksonville. Although she continued to hold a lifelong interest in government and politics, she entered the business world in the early 1980's and became President of Duke Properties, Inc.
Linda is survived by her beloved husband and best friend, Lynwood G. Willis, of Jacksonville, Florida and Savannah, Georgia; her brothers, Jimmy Valson Boon and Alvis T. Boon, of Ennis, Texas; and her sisters, Hazel Boon Tidwell, Iris Boon Ball, Marilyn Boon Linsteadt, of Ennis, Texas, and Janis Boon Dalley of Austin, Texas, and Susan Boon Schwartz, of Prescott Valley, Arizona. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Ginger Boon and Earlene Boon, of Ennis, Texas, Melinda Boon of Houston, Texas and Gloria Boon, of Cleburne, Texas; and her brothers-in-law, Robert Linsteadt of Ennis, Texas, Ward Dalley of Austin, Texas and Russell Schwartz of Prescott Valley, Arizona; and by many beloved nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
In addition, Linda is also survived by her step-daughters, Kathleen Willis Greer and her husband, William P. Greer, of Jacksonville, Florida, Linda Willis Moore and her husband, Don Moore, of Sammamish, Washington, Julia Willis Kimmerly and her husband, Mark Kimmerly, of Kirkland, Washington, and Ashley Grayson Willis, of Jacksonville, Florida; and her four grandchildren by marriage, Thomas Braxton Adamson and his wife Kaley P. Adamson, of Jacksonville, Florida, Jennifer Courtney Moore and Robert Willis Moore, of Sammamish, Washington, and Parker Jane Kimmerly, of Kirkland, Washington.
A person at home in many environments, Linda was never as happy as when she was with her family and friends. She had a passion for the written word and used her talents for writing to honor through poetry and prose those whom she loved. Gifted with a very generous spirit, she delighted in sharing her time, knowledge and material goods with the young people in her life. With her family, she was instrumental in founding two non-profit organizations, both of which are successful and make a difference in the lives of others.
Funeral services will be held at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, with visitation following until 8:00 p.m.

Anyone who knew Linda Lou will miss her terribly. I first met Linda on Capitol Hill back in 1977 and she remained a dear friend ever since. She mentored me and was the most kind and generous friend I've had the pleasure of knowing. I love you, Linda. My prayers and thoughts are with Lindy and Linda's extended family.

I got to know Linda in 1976 as a young man moving from deep East Texas to Washington D.C. and working on the Hill sponsored by Congressman Charlie Wilson. Linda welcomed me and made a small town boy feel at home in the big city. What a smile she had - and she knew how to make you smile too.

We want to say, our thoughts and prayers are with Linda, her family and friends. The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. In Christ
